Its been ages since I last submitted a deviation but thats because I've been flat out busy at uni making this and another animation. I'm fairly happy with the way this turned out except the sound and as I did more and more my drawing got lazier and lazier and messier too.
I'm happy with the style I chose for this too. Its not really my favourite style but I think it worked okay.
Criticisms are good and let me know what you think
Nice and simplistic. One criticism I have about it are the edges in all the BG objects. They look too clean. I feel they would have suited a more illustrative look to go with the characters. But over all the animation turned out well.
Thanks man. Yeah I agree about that. If I had more time, I would have gone through and made it a lot more angular but the assignment is basically due. Anyhoo, how is your animation going? I haven't gone through my deviations so I might yet see it
It's slowly getting there. I've got until November 5 to have it done. Panic should be kicking in soon to have it ready in time. I'm actually working on it at the moment. I haven't uploaded any new stuff yet. I'll probably wait until it's finished and premiered at our class' exhibition.
whelp i'm depressed now, this is better than my final year project
very good though, i particularly liked the part where the cab came up over the hill and went down again, and the flop down after he comes through the front window of the cab was nice too.
something about the impact with the floor niggles at me for looking a tad odd, though i'm not quite sure why though
for crit, the driver bouncing down the road didn't quite do it for me, nor his eyes moving from side to side just before he jumped... and the tires on the car on the side view do funny things to my head... but I think that's just one of my little logic centers going, noooooooo tires don't do that, stupid logic center. can't pick out anything else, it was great.
but all in all, great timing, nice clear jokes. I actually rather liked the sound too, all the wooshes during travel, and softening of the sound cutting back and forth between the cabby and steve freaking out was nice, and it tells the story when it's needed.
And I rather liked the backgrounds really crisp and clean vector looking too. If anything, i think having the characters more textured to contrast the sharp background might be interesting, so they were more organic looking on a sharp stylised bg.
Ooo that stand up after the face plant was pretty darn nice too, bum in air, and up
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Gotta say I completely disagree with the previous commenter about the backgrounds too. They're really solid work, and fit the animation well.
